The Speed-0 model accurately maps the traffic on the streets of Thessaloniki’s wider urban complex after processing and using complex algorithms, real-time and time-lag data derived from the Telematics system installed in all of the vehicles of the Urban Organization Transportation of Thessaloniki.
Speed-0 is a real-time traffic model with features of high complexity with easy adaptation to corresponding problems of other cities. The raw data it receives is real and timeless. These data are obtained from Telematics systems minimizing the requirement for high cost and maintenance information to be obtained from standard metering systems (road induction loop systems). The result of the model is a series of dynamic results that process and depict on a geographic system shows traffic on the streets in real-time conditions.
